Ford Fusion May Join Mustang At Flat Rock Plant
Seems when the car companies are negotiating union contracts is when the best information comes out about future product plans. This is because the negotiation process is usually played out publicly and promises of work at plants are an open part of that process.
As Ford hammers out their contract with the UAW this last week, news has dribbled out that Ford intends to keep a full boat of employees at the AutoAlliance (AAI) Flat Rock, MI plant where the Mustang now shares the line with the Mazda 6.
AAI has been is down to only a single shift, building the Ford Mustang and the Mazda6. But since Mazda announced they plan to pull production at the plant, its future has been in question as the Mustang alone cannot pay the bills.
